Along with Iroko, Afrormosia is sometimes referred to as “African Teak.” Afrormosia is easy to work with both hand and machine tools, though surfacing boards with interlocking grain may cause tearout.
Afrormosia heartwood is typically a yellowish brown, occasion will have an either reddish or olive hue. Color tends to darken with age. Narrow sapwood is pale yellow and is clearly differentiated from the heartwood. Grain is usually straight, though it can also be interlocked
Rated as very durable regarding decay resistance, and is also resistant to termites and other insects.
Afrormosia is commonly used for boatbuilding, veneer, flooring, and furniture.

Bubinga is an African hardwood that is reasonably workable, however gluing can be difficult. White sapwood that is clearly separated from the heartwood, which is reddish brown with dark distinct streaks. The tree can grow up to 45m and has a diameter of between 100 and 200cm and is difficult to kiln dry. May have an unpleasant odor when wet, disappears after drying.
Bubinga is used for furniture, clothing and table tops. Bubinga is on the CITES list and cannot be immediately imported without a permit.

The core of Tali is described as yellow-brown to dark or chocolate brown with gray or almost black stripes. The African Tali has a slightly lighter shade. There are scattered coarse leeks, filled with red sharpik edgedes. Tali is difficult to work, pre-drilling is always necessary. Hard to ignite. Wengé has an approximately 5cm gray-white splinter, in fresh cut yellow-brown with a year-long core that has a greenish glow. In the case of sunlight, the tree becomes lighter than other varieties. The tree is very durable, strong, incredibly elastic, wear-resistant with high impact strength. Machining is energy-intensive. Stitches and screws can break the tree and gluing is difficult.
